I am writing this letter to outline my relationship with Lacasse Maritime Services.
I have had a working relationship with Lacasse Services since 1997 and it has always
been a positive experience. Initially, I only dealt with their crew placement
division to fill vacant positions. As I relationship grew,
I also began to utilize their services as an agent in the Pacific Northwest.
This included arranging Washington State Pilots, Setting up accounts for
supplies and acting as a purchasing agent our behalf.
In 2003, I started a successful relationship with Lacasse Technologies
for our worldwide computer support.
Through out our relationship, I have always felt the employees of Lacasse extend
themselves to provide us with personal service. Unlike many management companies
who appear at times to be self serving, Lacasse has the best interests of the vessel
in mind at all times. I do not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone in the
Marine management or estate management field.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly. You can try calling at 415 706 3944.
Please be patient, as we are cruising and our cell signal is somewhat intermittent.
Respectfully,
Andrew Johnstone

M/Y Pangaea

Pangaea is a 184-foot motor yacht with a crew of thirteen that is currently cruising
around the world. During our move from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean,
we cruised from the Pacific coast of Central America all the way through Alaska and
accomplished two shipyard periods in Seattle, Washington. During these shipyard periods,
Lacasse Services was used extensively for a wide variety of assistance with projects
involving all aspects of the maintenance of the vessel.
Lacasse Services performed their work with the utmost skill and efficiency.
No matter what I asked of their employees, they responded with speed and professionalism.
There is no question that without their help, it would have been impossible to complete our
demanding shipyard list on time. In the fall of 2004, we were working against the clock
to make a charter in French Polynesia with a great deal of pressure from a long shipyard list.
If not for the efforts of Lacasse Services, we would have not made the charter in time.
Two more issues I would like to bring up. During this time, I was in need of a few
new crew members and Lacasse Services let me pick qualified people from many resumes
and I am proud to say those crew are still with Pangaea today and regarded as valuable
members of the Pangaea family. Secondly, AFTER leaving Seattle to head down the west
coast of the United States, we were surprised by an unexpected storm and had two Jet
Ski’s come loose on the deck and were damaged beyond repair. Lacasse Services acquired
two new Jet Ski’s and drove them down the coast to deliver them to us quickly so we
could continue south to make our charter in French Polynesia. An amazing feat of
yachting service that proves the necessary “whatever it takes” attitude!
I recommend Lacasse Services to anyone looking to have assistance with
any aspect of professionally managing your yacht. If you have any questions
regarding this company, I may be contacted aboard the boat at 954-648-6164.
Sincerely,
Michael W. F. Schueler
